So, I know it has been a while since I have posted anything on my blog…I promise it is all for a good reason! I cannot wait to share my SURPRISE with you all, later this week. After I took a quick poll on my IG page, I noticed a lot of you guys were interested in seeing some of my favourite skincare products.

Therefore, I decided to dedicate this entire day to really curating my bathroom products, photographing them and giving you my honest opinion on what I truly love the most. Before I begin sharing them with you, I would like to first give you some background information on my skin.

My Skin

As many of you know by now, I have lived in New Zealand prior to moving here in Los Angeles. While I was studying in Auckland, I developed a serious obsession for good quality skin care. Due to the humid, kiwi climate my skin was doing better than it had ever been. I would only have a breakout every 3-4 months.

However, since moving to Los Angeles I got to experience the exact opposite of what I was accustomed to  – “Desert Weather”.  It definitely took me by surprise because although I love this place so much, my skin thinks less of it. I now break out at least every 2 weeks and my skincare routine is completely different. Although some of you may think my skin looks fine, trust me it takes a lot of time and effort to get it even 50% as good as what it used to look like back home. My skin is sensitive, mostly oily on the ‘T-zone’ and dehydrated because of the dry air. Therefore, I have to make sure to hydrate my body and skin at all times. If I don’t, my skin will actually produce even more oil, causing me to break out. You feel me?

Here are some of my current favourite skincare products that keep my skin under control:

Cinq Mondes Five Flowers Micellar Cleansing Water

I first discovered this micellar water during a visit at a very beautiful spa here in Los Angeles. Prior to this, I used to simply use makeup wipes at the end of the day. For some reason, my skin was always irritated and never cleansed enough. But with this Cinq Mondes micellar water, my makeup comes off very easily and my skin never looks red. Can you believe it even takes off waterproof makeup? I am obsessed!

La Roche-Posay Medicated Gel Acne Cleanser

I do not wear makeup every day. On days I must, I will wipe it off with the micellar water and then wash my face with this cleanser. The reason I love the La Roche-Posay cleanser so much is because makeup always breaks me out, no matter how organic or oil free it is. This helps control my oil production and prevent any future acne. I have been using it for over a year now and I think I will continue to do so for a very long time. It is one of my ‘Ride Or Die’ products you will always find in the beauty bag!

Chantecaille Eau De Rose de Mai

I wake up every single morning by spraying this beautiful rose water by Chantecaille all over my face. It is the perfect way to start my morning along with a cup of matcha latté. I also like to spray it on my face throughout the day when my energy feels a little low or when it is crazy hot outside. Some days I simply like to use it as a toner. It is the most versatile beauty product in my bag and I love it!

Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch

During my Korean skincare obsession phase — something I completely forgot to mention to you guys about — I discovered the most amazing product for breakouts. I promise you will thank me for this… This is not your traditional acne pimple cream. It is the coolest little invisible patch that comes in 3 different sizes. You simply apply them on a clean surface and go to bed. When you wake up, the patch would have absorbed most of your pimple away! Some days I decorate my face with them and hang around the house, while my hubby stares at me strangely. If there is only one item you could purchase out of this skincare list, I highly recommend the Cosrx pimple patches. They are life changing.

Tata Harper Concentrated Brightening Serum

I like applying this serum to my face every time I’ve been naughty and picked my little pimples. I know it is a bad habit but it is so addictive! Feel free to comment down below and tell me to stop please. This is one of my current favourite skincare brands. Have you guys ever heard of it? Tata Harper is completely organic and natural. Every product in their line has been well thought out. This particular Brightening Serum helps repair the damage I have created on my skin and diminish those dark spots.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Serum

If I had to pick one single serum for the rest of my life, this one would be it. I purchased this Good Genes serum right before Christmas, after hearing many good things about it from well-known beauty editors. Within 3 minutes of applying this product, I saw a change. I know, I sound like some late night hawker for an informercial. Next I’ll be selling you the thigh-master… This product is absolutely magical. Although they rave about its power to ‘plump the look of wrinkles’, it did a lot more than that for my skin. It helped smooth out small bumps, even skin tone and hydrate. Apply this magical treatment right before you go to bed and you will wake up with glowing skin.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Gel Crème

I swear this is the only product I was able to continue using since I moved from New Zealand. It is another old-time friend that never fails to comfort you and help in difficult situations. I love how thin the consistency of this gel moisturiser is. The Chanel Hydra Beauty Gel Crème is very hydrating and soothing. It is perfect to wear bare faced especially on those scorching-hot summer days. I actually use it most days and am absolutely addicted to the scent it lingers on my face throughout the day.

La Prairie Anti-Aging Eye Scream SPF15

And we can’t possibly forget eye cream, right? It is one of the most important steps in my skincare routine. Because I live in California and winter is non-existent, I have to be extra careful with the amount of sun exposure to my skin. Your under-eyes are the most sensitive part of your face and they require extra love and attention. Throughout the day, I like to apply SPF all over my face and to be extra cautious, I pat this La Prairie eye cream underneath my eyes to protect that thin layer of skin. This is a must-have for you sun lovers out there!

Crystal Face Rollers

Crystal face rollers have been historically used for ancient beauty and medicine. However, this is a recent fad that has completely dominated the beauty world. They have been rediscovered and everyone is obsessing over the benefits they provide for your skin. Most of them help boost blood circulation, diminish fine lines, help products penetrate deeper, eliminate toxins and reduce headache and sinus pain. However, different crystals provide special benefits depending on your needs. For example, the Rose Quarts roller brightens your complexion and minimises scars while the Jade roller improves skin elasticity and tightens pores. This is the last step of my skincare routine every night. It is extremely relaxing and I personally find the face massage helps me sleep better. I am in love!
